Ken Rowe Gallery
Ken Rowe Bio
Ken Rowe's threefold talent as a onetime successful taxidermist, naturalist and
sculptor has made him one of the country's most respected sculptors of wildlife.
Besides a passion for sculpting and a fascination with animals of all kinds, success
as a wildlife sculptor requires a passion for adventure. Rowe reveres and connects
with the natural world. Observing and studying eagles continues to be one of Rowe's
ultimate passions.
When asked how he felt when he first saw an eagle flying above the Alaskan skyline,
Rowe says, "It was like finally meeting someone I had admired for years. I am always
humbled by what I see and I realize how critical it is to create authentic sculptures."
When Rowe returns from an adventure in nature he maintains his passion for his work
by surrounding himself with reference materials and photographs. He sustains his
enthusiasm by working on a diversity of pieces simultaneously. How do clients react
to Rowe's finished work? "Their response is truly awesome," says Rowe. "I am so
thrilled when collectors tell me my work has enhanced their life.”
Ken Rowe was born and raised in Arizona. As a young boy, he was known to express
himself through various art mediums, such as drawing, painting and sculpting. An
avid outdoorsman, Ken has devoted his life to combining his vocation with his avocation
through a career in wildlife.
At the age of 26, Ken opened his own wildlife art
studio where he sculpted life
size mannequins as a taxidermist. During that time, Ken submerged himself in a business
that demanded an intense study of anatomy, composition and wildlife physiology.
Ken believes that this in-depth knowledge is an extremely important quality for
a wildlife artist.
Rowe's wildlife sculptures are in numerous boardrooms all over corporate America
and they offer a sense of peace to clients in an often-stressful environment. In
a sense Rowe is an emissary of the wilderness…. transforming homes and offices with
his passion for animals and his work.
